Customers can now search for products in Google Maps and see results from nearby stores directly within the Maps interface.
The update means retailers with physical stores can potentially get sales and traffic directly from Maps.
“Now, you can search in Google Maps for items like pickleball rackets, board games, ice cream makers and more to find nearby stores that have them in stock so you can pick up what you need, stat.”
Type in your product in the search bar in Maps and you’ll see a product carousel with information about whether the item is in stock. A click on the store will give you information such as opening hours, directions and contacts.

The new product-specific search feature on Maps makes it easier for customers to find what they’re looking for, be sure it’s in stock, and pick it up in person.
Coming ahead of the busy holiday shopping season, it could help drive traffic to physical stores, especially for last-minute purchases.
To make products eligible to show in Maps you need to be using Google Merchant Center. Your products will now show up in Google Maps, as well as Google Search and Shopping.
Use structured data to provide information to Google about your products, your store and more.
