Google has announced that recommendations in Search Console are now fully live and available to all.
The feature, which was launched in August, offers suggestions specific to your site to improve its performance. They highlight optimization opportunities and suggest actions to improve your website’s presence on Search.
Google says recommendations are based on “actionable insights from your site’s data that are worth your attention”. They will only be provided “when there’s something interesting and actionable to show”, so not all users will see them.
The kinds of recommendations Google might show for a site include:
- Issues (something that could be fixed)
- Opportunities (something that could improve your traffic)
- Configuration (something that could make your work easier)
The recommendations can help you prioritize your search optimization efforts, such as using structured data to help Google understand your content, adding sitemaps, and checking out trending queries and pages.
You can find recommendations in the Overview section in Search Console. Here’s what they look like:
Recommendations are optional, so you don’t have to take the suggested action.
Google says they will be updated regularly and may expire or change over time.
