Update: in a tweet on 3rd June, Google announced the update was "live and rolling out to our various data centers over the coming days."
Google announced in a tweet late Sunday that it would be releasing a broad core algorithm update today, Monday 3rd June.
Google advice around core algorithm updates can be seen on Twitter here: https://twitter.com/searchliaison/status/1135275028834947073
The last core update was released in March this year.
Google's Danny Sullivan said the update was not anything special or particuarly big, but they wanted to be proactive in communicating ahead of the release.
It's unusual for Google to give prior notifications, but a welcome development and it curtails the usual "have they-haven't they" speculation as people try to work out what's happening with changes seen.
Keep an eye out for changes today and we'll also keep you updated on the Wordtracker blog as information about the nature of the update emerges.
