Analyzing the link data for web pages that rank well for a particular keyword is the first step to beating those pages.

The Link Builder tool makes this very easy with multiple search engines - Google, Bing and Yahoo! and multiple geographical areas - Spain, France and Germany have now been added to the US and UK.

Since the link database that we use now has over 2 trillion URLs including URLs in these countries, you can now do country specific link building campaigns.

The feature is straightforward:

  1. Enter a keyword
  2. We then search your specified engine using the keyword in your chosen geographical location
  3. We analyze the links coming to each of the top 10 results and present them in the order that they appear in the search engine results.

Here it is in action:

In this case I'm searching Google in Germany with the keyword 'hotel Berlin'.

The tool finds the top 10 results on the search engine and then analyzes the links coming in to each - the order the results are returned by the search engine is maintained.

LinkBuilder-German-2

Click on 'Show links' and you'll see the linking domains for that URL.

That means that you can take any keyword that is important to you, find the pages that are beating you and see exactly where they get their links from. You can then set yourself the target of beating those pages.
